
 Cumberland Valley TrailFestJoin the Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trails Council for the 19th annual TrailFest. All events will be held at Shippensburg Station located at the corner of Fort and Earl Streets in Shippensburg.
Half MarathonOur main event is a half marathon. The out and back course will start and finish at Ship Station on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail.An Event for EveryoneYou can choose from a Half Marathon, 5k Race, 10 mile Hike, 25 mile Bike Ride, or just get moving with a 1 Mile Fun Run/ Walk (Free for kids from 1 to 100). All events will be run on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail and will traverse almost 13 miles of completed rail-trail between the Shippensburg and Newville.
Your registration (except the free 1 mile) gets you a 1 free craft beer, craft soda or wine and a free event t-shirt.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Cumberland Valley Rail-to-Trails Council (CVRTC) and will be used for maintaining the current trail, extending the trail toward Carlisle and Chambersburg, and maintaining the Cumberland Valley Railroad Museum.Beer Garden

Maxie's Brew House, Castlerigg Wine, and Screaming Bambino Cellars will be providing craft beer, craft soda, cider and wine at the TrailFest. Individual glasses are available for $6. You will receive one free drink with any event registration.
The beer garden will be open from 10:00 am to 2 pm.

Friday Evening PickupCome to Shippenburg First Fridays on Friday evening, October 3 from 4:30 to 8:00 pm to pickup you your race number and shirt (if ordered). Shippenburg First Fridays is located at the same location as the TrailFest start and finish: Shippensburg Station, 51 E Fort Street, Shippensburg, PA, 17257. This will also be the last chance to pre-register and save $10 over the same day price. If you pick up your number on Friday you do not have to check in on Saturday morning. Just pin on your race number, put your timing chip on your shoe, and proceed directly to the start line a few minutes before your event time.
Shippenburg First Fridays also has live music, food trucks and a beer garden.

28th Annual Fall Down on the Trail HikeThis is your opportunity to hike the trail from the Newville Trailhead to Shippensburg Station (10 Miles) and not have to arrange a ride back. Transportation will be provided from Shippensbug Station to Newville and you hike back. A water stop will be available in Oakville.25 Mile Bike RideEnjoy a leisurely non-competitive ride along the entire length of the finished Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. This will be an out and back 25 mile bike ride on the newly resurfaced rail trail from the Shippensburg Station past the trailhead in Newville to the trail end at Greenhill Road and back to the Shippensburg Station. Rest stops will be available along the way with a snack in Newville. If you want a slightly shorter ride you can turn around at the Newville trailhead for a 20 mile ride.Half MarathonOur main event is a half marathon. The out and back course on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail will start and end at Shippensburg Station.1 Mile Fun Run/WalkGet everyone moving with a 1 Mile Fun Run/ Walk. Free for kids from 1 to 1005k RunThe 5k (3.1 mile) race/walk will travel out and back on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. The course will use the newly completed paved trail extension and bridge beginning and ending at the Shippensburg Station.

Guaranteed t-shirt deadline September 21Everyone registered by September 21 for the 5k, Half Marathon, Ride or Hike will receive either a cotton t-shirt or a tech shirt upgrade. Shirts will be availabe for purchase for the 1 mile. After September 21 tech shirts will not be available to order. Extra cotton t-shirts will be available as first come first served until they are gone.

Race day registration and bib pickup will begin at 8:00 AM at the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail, 51 E Fort St, Shippensburg, PA. Registration closes 15 minutes before the event starts, please be considerate of others and register on time.ParkingThere are several parking lots available within short walking distance to TrailFest. Refer to the PDF Parking Map or Google MapsBike ParkingWe are asking if you registered for the Bike Ride please park in the lot at Queen Street and Richard Avenue. From the entrance to the parking turn towards Shippensburg University - 200 yards - Left on the Rail-Trail to registration. Total distance approx. 1/2 mile.
From the north use I-81 exit 29, turn right onto Walnut Bottom Rd. Left onto King Street (US 11). Turn right onto North Queen Street at Sheetz. 1/3 mile to the parking lot on the right.
From the south use I-81 exit 24, turn left onto Olde Scotland Rd. Left onto Fayette Street. Right onto King Street (US 11). Turn left onto North Queen Street at Sheetz. 1/3 mile to the parking lot on the right.Pre-Registration Required for Hike TranportationYou must pre-register for the Hike by the end of the day on Sunday, September 21 so we can arrange transportation for you to Newville. Transportation will leave Saturday morning from Ship Station in Shippensburg at 8:30 AM. Registration opens at 8 AM at Ship Station. If you register on the event day you will have to arrange you own transportation.

CVRTC is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable corporation dedicated to conservation, historic preservation, recreation and alternative transportation in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania through the development of multi-use trails along former railroad corridors and other areas. CVRTC owns and maintains the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail that runs 13 miles from Shippensburg to noth west of Newville and is working on extending the trail to Carlisle and south of Shippensburg.
